I did lots of stretches/yoga and kegel exercises, sex with Oās! I wasnāt due for another 3 weeks and my water broke the next morning!! (First time I ever did anything to help bring on labour and I shocked myself!) Stretches (I did each stretch for about 3mins and repeat about 3x) - Deep Squats - Childs Pose - Pelvic Tilts - Butterfly Stretch Kegel Exercise - 5x On & Off about 2 seconds apart then hold for 10s. - 10 really quick ones back to back and then hold for 5s Make sure you lift as high as you can! Hope this helps xx
I went for a really long walk. š¤£š¤£ I ended walking for about 5 hours accidentally and stopped when I started having backpain. Not knowing that I was starting to go into labor. š¤ but I also got a membrane sweep almost 30 hrs prior to that which helps labor speed up also. Not sure if the do membrane sweeps where your at though.
I ate pineapple and went in labour the following day
@Kellie Iām to lazy to do any of thisš¤£
@Brianna yes Iām going to have a sweep next Wednesday!
Curb steps, eat pineapples & dates & just plenty of walking! Good luck x
Lots of walking and side stairs walking as well as curb walking
@Charlotte be prepared, you might have alot of lower back pain right after or a couple hours after getting it done. Almost like period cramps shooting through your back. Usually that's a sign that labor may start. Now it was about 40 hrs until i actually went into labor after the sweep so don't be discouraged if it doesn't work right away it has a time span, could happen 24 to 42 hrs after the sweep! Goodluck! š
Most everything in anecdotal. I've tried everything before and baby will just come when it wants. Orgasms can trigger contractions though. And they can try to sweep you if you're dilated at all
Raspberry leaf tea, pineapple and sex (or just the sperm will do). You can refuse an induction if baby isn't at risk. Induction increases your risk of needing an emergency c section so unless it's medically necessary you can say no
Ask for a sweepš©µ
@Zenisha have you had a sweep? X
@Helen yeah baby is all fine, I had reduced movements but sheās all fine when they check, which is why they asked me if I wanted these options but I reaaaaaally donāt
@Charlotte yes, I was offered either a sweep or induction as I was in often for a multitude of things, but I had it Monday and he was here by the Friday xx

My labour started 4 hr before my induction appointment lol
I was days from being induced with my second which I didnāt want so I spent most of the day bouncing on a ball, eating pineapples and I think I had spicy food the night I gave birth, I also went up and down the stairs
You donāt need to go for induction⦠itās a long process and forcing something thatās meant to be the most natural thing for women to do⦠I wish I said no because every day I spent in there I was in more and more of a panic⦠then of course⦠the induction didnāt work⦠probably because my body fought off the hormones they were pumping in me because I was petrified⦠then ended in c section after 6 days in there⦠a lot of mental and physical stress, there were times I was awake for 20 hours⦠not eating the best either⦠not good when heavily pregnant 1 in 4 inductions end up in c section
@Emily this is the thing. I donāt know if they get to the point they say I need inducing because of risks etc (currently baby is fine) should I just opt for a c section to avoid all that stress and it not working
I feel like I wouldāve reduced a lot of stress and trauma if I just opted for the c section⦠and Iād consider doing that if thereās ever a next time as Iād feel more in control.. recovery is rough especially the first week but I was so exhausted from being in there so long as well. But you can still wait⦠I was induced for big baby but only 1 in 10,000 babies get stuck⦠but I felt a lot of pressure once it was offered and told every one around me who said ājust get it doneā I delayed it 4/5 days but tbh I went in because I was so tired of talking about it lol first babies usually take a little longer so thereās the option to wait for sure x
@Charlotte how far along are you? So typically they don't do inductions until your at least 41 weeks bc that's when it becomes a risk for mom and baby. Most of the time (now I'm talking at least US as i live there not UK) they don't do inductions until it's the very last resort. Meaning your body just isn't going into labor or baby isn't in a good position. Bc it is a risk pumping you with extra hormones to Kickstart labor and I heard that can be more painful then going into labor naturally.
@Brianna Iām in the uk and theyāve spoken to me about inducing since 37 weeks because Iāve had episodes of reduced movements. So Iāve been monitored instead but they do keep saying to me about having it done
@Emily I also feel like Iām a little bit pressured and scared into make a choice and a lot of people are also just like yeah get it done. Iād much rather it be natural, unsure about doing the sweep now but might do it anyway. Iām now also thinking if they really want to induce me because of risks Iād rather just opt for the section but Iām scared about that too
@Charlotte oof, yeah that's definitely would scare me. Actually my twin had the same thing, they were worried bc of reduced movement also... I'd say still do the sweep and hope it'll upstart labor, the reason I say just do it bc there aren't any risk of doing the sweep. It'll either work or not. But when go in for it I'd talk more about c section and what next step should be if the sweep doesn't work. 9/10 times the sweep does work though.
@Charlotte if you don't want to be induced or have a c section then you don't have to. It's your body, your choice. I think the medical institutions put a lot of pressure on pregnant women to be induced because if they don't then all this scary stuff will happen. But if you're healthy and the baby is healthy your body will naturally go into labour when the time is right. Women have been having babies for years, before medical intervention was a thing. Don't feel pressured into doing anything you don't want to. Your body your choice. My daughter came when I was 41 weeks, going onto 42 and I refused an induction. You can agree to be monitored weekly until you go into labour if you wanted? That is an option x
@Ruth This is very true thank you. I feel like itās gotten in my head what if I donāt naturally go into labor then what? I feel like Iād have no choice past 40 weeks to accept an intervention š© so Iām praying and manifesting it happens by its self! Me and baby are fine, sheās not too big or small (63rd percentile) and yeah thereās no reason other than Iāve been in for reduced movements x
I did curb walking for about 3 days. Really helped with putting me into labor
You will 100% go into labour naturally. And I think when babies are ready to be born they naturally move less - I mean, there's less space in there. But if you have any concerns you can totally ask them to monitor you and baby after the 40 weeks instead of being induced. If everything is fine with you and baby the hospital will wait until 42 weeks and even after that they can still wait. Baby will come when baby is ready. And if baby is healthy and you're healthy. There's nothing to worry about. Maybe take this time to do something relaxing and fun just for yourself because once baby is here, your priorities change and things you loved doing for yourself goes out the window! š
Being induced with fingers always in my cervix my cervix was so sore after⦠you definitely have the choice to wait.. I think there is a lot of scare mongering and itās so hard because you believe theyāre experts and you donāt wanna harm yourself or the baby. But they get it wrong sometimes too but Labour can be so unpredictable so c section can kind of take all the anxiety away. I listened to a good book by Siobhan Miller Hypnobirthing: Practical Ways to Make Your Birth Better
You donāt have to have either. Look up KGHypnobirthing on Instagram. The stress of trying to beat the medical team to labour will delay your labour, not bring it on. Unless thereās a valid reason, just let them know you will be in touch after your due date has passed and will reassess then. Do not be told you are doing something you have no reason to be doing.

Donāt let them scaremonger you. If baby and you are overall fine tell them where to go! X
My water broke and I was laboring at home for a LONGGG time almost 2 days!! This may sound crazy but it really worked almost instantly⦠nipple stimulation , and orgasms! Use a breast pump and even try a vibrator at the same time !! I STAND BY THIS!!
I recently had an induction at 39 weeks, I was in labour for 17 hours before I asked for a C-section (for multiple reasons this was best for me and baby at the time) if I was given the option again Iād opt for the C-section straight away, it was a calm and lovely environment, we had music playing and the staff speaking to us, baby was here 4 minutes from the operation starting.
1. Iām not in the UK but advocate for yourself!! If youāre not comfortable and youāre not full term express your feelings to your doctors ! 2. Sex, pumping (can start contractions), stretching/exercise/walking, prenatal massage (I scheduled mine and my baby ended up being born the day of my appointment, I didnāt even have to go to the massage!) they can do a membrane sweep, which is more natural than inducing.
I was due to be induced at 39 weeks on a Monday and she arrived at 38+6 on the Sunday morning𤣠for that week I ate 6 dates a day and one big pack of pineapple. Bought some pineapple juice too but donāt think I got round to drinking it. I also kept moving as much as possible. Couldāve all been pure flukeš¤·š¼āāļø good luck!š«¶š»
Donāt expect induction unless medically necessary. Baby will come when they are ready ! How many weeks are you ?? My daughter came naturally at 41+2 . They love pushing inductions - I would have continued until 42/43 weeks as long as baby was ok x

You can just say no. Unless your baby is in danger.
