My son is named after the actor who played Anakin skywalker 🤣

My kids aren’t named after anything but I’m named after Sidney from scream lol

My oldest is Samuel Mortimer (after Sam vines and Mort from Discworld) and my youngest's initials are JOC (also a Discworld reference because I couldn't find another name I liked)

Damon from vampire diaries Elijah from the Bible that also happens to be from the vampire diaries 😝

My first - middle name is the same as my dad's, and her first name could be shortened to a nickname that rhymes with his. Second - actual names aren't after anyone, but his initials are RBG (born in 2020). Our third is named after his grandma and great grandmas. If we have another I think we'll have to incorporate my mom's name!

So, interesting story. My dad was adopted as a baby. His bio mom had chosen David for his name, but when he was adopted, his name was changed to Douglas. He passed away when I was 8 & I always said if I ever had a baby & he was a boy, he would be David Douglas. As it turns out, my husband’s grandfathers were/are Douglas & David. Therefore, he’s technically named after his maternal grandfather & paternal great grandfathers.

@Sidney this is kind of random, but I found myself looking at your page & you sound like my kind of friend for real lol. We’re long distance, but would you be okay if I messaged you?

My daughters name is Rosalie. I fell in love with it when I read twilight as a kid and knew I wanted to name my daughter that and then it was also my husbands grandmothers name and he wanted to name his daughter after her.

I always loved Jessi for a girl and it was the top name on my baby list since I was 12, turns out my hubbys grandpa who passed was Jesse and I got the spelling from a old coworker who was named Jessica but went by Jessi

Isaiah from the Bible

My husband gave our son named Carlisle from Twilight and a place somewhere in Arkansas if I am right. Lol

Not really named "after" but one of the ways we looked for names we liked (for our younger two) was by looking at lists of scientists and humanitarian type people from back in the day since we knew we liked old fashioned names. One middle name is the middle name of both of my lifelong friends, the other middle name is the name of my paternal grandma and also middle name of my maternal grandma. My oldest was named after his dad (different father than younger two) and uncle in a morphine induced episode. Half kidding 😅. We had a name picked out but then saw him and decided it didn't fit. But they said we couldn't leave the hospital without naming him. So we ended up picking his dad's middle name for his first name and his uncles first name for the middle name. It actually fits him really well though and as he's gone through school there have been very few other kids with the same name. So it worked out.
