‘Ante-Natal Clinic’..?

At my first midwife appointment, I was told I’d be referred to a consultant because of my physical & mental health conditions. The appointment that’s been arranged for me is coming up this Tuesday.. what can I expect?

I had this due to a heart condition that I have. It was a general chat about the condition, how it affects me, how they will manage/monitor it etc. as well as the usual chit chat about how the pregnancy is going etc. Prior to meeting with the consultant it was the usual pee in a pot and blood pressure measurements.

I have this due to having Crohn’s disease, it’s just to make sure they can help in every way possible to ensure any health issues are monitored closely so pregnancy is as smooth sailing as possible, they are always there if you have any concerns aswell. Nothing to worry about 🥰

I have one due to a medical condition. They basically said that they monitor you more. In my case I have to have monthly blood tests to check medication levels. They talk about potentially being induced early - I said I didn’t want that. First pregnancy went smoothly so don’t see the point. They check up every few months for your progress. From 32 weeks I’ll have weekly growth scans. And then they discuss from 32wks about care after birth and potential additional support or advice x
