I was so much more nervous with my second. I think it's because with your first you don't really know what to expect, and then you have all that knowledge going into your second plus if you had any kind of traumatic experience that makes it worse. My second was much better than my first. Something I wish someone had said to me is take a good look at your first child before you go to hospital because they will look so much bigger/older when you get home with the new baby. I just kept looking at my son, thinking wow you have changed so much, overnight. I guess he hadn't but it felt like he had
Last pregnancy was an emergency C-section and I wasn't nervous. This time I'm trying for vbac but still not nervous. Come what may, I trust my medical team and always have a room close to the OR
I was so prepared and ready for my first labor. UNTIL i found out i needed an emergency c section, then all hell broke loose. Now im getting soooo nervous for future pregnancies. It was somewhat of a blessing that i didnt expect it the first time😭
Yes more nervous but also more informed and I had visualised it a lot more as I knew roughly what to expect. A really good thing I did second time round and I’d recommend was do a tour of the hospital to familiarise myself with the setting (triage/labour ward/postnatal wards). It also helped with the visualisation and when I arrived I felt really comforted as I knew where I was going. It can be mega quick with number 2 but mine wasn’t (hospital 8pm, baby 4am roughly, so faster than first but still not a 15 minute job I heard about so much !). Oh and like Lisa said, hold your first before you go in. I couldn’t BELIEVE how big she was when I saw her after, it blew my mind!
@Cici my first was easy and my 2nd was an emergency C-section, now a year later with our 3rd I WANT a vaginal birth but now I know the risks involved And I have what might be placenta previa and I'm just antsy to know if I can have a vbac or not. I was never afraid of nervous of actual birth, but C-sections stress me out!
I wasn’t too nervous with either of the 2 however I must have been over confident with my 2nd because it took me 30 minutes at push out my first and 2.5 hours to push out my second 😬😂
I was more nervous the second time around because I knew what was coming. With my first I wasn't nervous at all. But it was over and done with super quick I got to the hospital at 1am and gave birth at 1.17am. You'll be fine you've got this!!! They say your second comes quicker than your first and mine certainly did haha xx
