I had +3 glucose in my urine and it was a one off. Turns out I shouldn't have had sugary food before going 😂 Growth scans I've always got a call 2 working days after the referral and get booked in around 2 days after that
Not sure if your area use paper notes or the dreaded Badger app but if you do use the app, then double check as it doesn’t notify you of new appointments they add. Otherwise I would say there’s no harm in calling your maternity triage line tomorrow morning and enquiring why they haven’t set you an appointment yet.
Thanks all for your advice. So my midwife said something like the cut off time for the standard test for GD is 34 weeks so she was a bit unsure what to do and said she would measure my bump and then decide what to do. My appointment was on Wednesday afternoon so I was expecting a call Thursday or Friday. I'll see what tomorrow brings.
Watch out for a letter, my midwife advised for a growth scan, said i would get a call or a text, I never got a call, only a letter 1 day after I was supposed to go for a scan 😐
Usually i’ve had my growth scan appointments within a few days, i’ve has four now. Was referred on a Friday, scan was on the Monday. i usually get a text and a letter. What you could do is ring your maternity ultrasound see if they have you booked in. If not, call the community midwife and ask what’s happening. id do it asap, as you said x2 bank holidays, all my appointments are pushed back by five days+ because of this.
i developed polyhydraminos around 32 weeks so my bump went massive and i had to get checked for diabetes again🙄 but it’s normal for baby to grow a lot in the last few weeks i think🤷🏻♀️
I called antenatal at the hospital myself a few days after my midwife appointment and they gave me a growth scan appointment straight away. I remember doing that in my last pregnancy too. Might be worth a call!
They actually rang me this morning and gave me an appointment for 2 hours later. I've had my scan and baby is looking a normal size, so that's good. They said I would go back in 3 weeks for another scan. Wasn't expecting that considering all was fine today.
@Gillian My trust does a follow up scan as procedure even if all is ok. To double check probably 👍🏻
I’m 35 weeks and last week at my appointment my urine came back with glucose and high protein so they sent me off to get checked for preeclampsia due to the protein, however they never even mentioned anything else about the glucose or being concerned. Little girl is measuring 12th percentile so a little on the small side.
Any chance you’d eaten a lot of sugar in day? I have loads of syrup in porridge and I once got one that was high and it was literally cause of that. I now get messages on my nhs app at my hosp with appointments, and then letters follow a couple days later and text reminders. Usually get the message on the app maybe the day after depending on who’s requested it. They may ask you to do a GD test, but unsure when the cut off is with it, I thought it was about 34/35 weeks when they told me with my first. My babies growing big with no issues of GD, just genetically grow big babies x
They will still call on weekends, bank holidays. They’re open 24/7. They told me I needed a growth scan and took 2 days for them to call me x
I’m suprised they didn’t arrange a gd test if they think it might be that, when my urine had glucose in 2x I was booked in for another gd test 4 days later (tested Friday was in for the test Monday) If they need you for a growth scan again I would have thought they would be in contact soon when the consultant decided they wanted me for another I had a call the follow day with the appointment time (for the end of the week) how many days has it been? I would give it 2 days then either call the midwife or antenatal department. I’ve been tested now 3x by fasting blood test and once by finger prick 3 day monitoring and no gd yet (had it in previous pregnancy which is why the many tests). X
