Pre eclampsia

How quick can they find out about pre eclampsia, I mean if you end up in triage then how long will they take to do tests and stuff to rule out pre eclampsia. Does it take a long time and what’s the treatment for it! As I don’t want to stay in hospital I don’t have a consistent high pressure but it spikes at any moment in the day along with heart palpitation and then gets down in a minute. Really confusing! Is it typical pregnancy symptom or something really serious🫤 I don’t like unnecessary hospital visits, this doesn’t seem to me something serious but yet than makes me worried sometime, as I am quite over anxious person!!

It could be a sign of being something serious. They typically do a urine test, blood test, they’ll likely keep you in for observation for a little while and keep checking your blood pressure, they may also monitor baby on a CTG. They may send you home and ask you to collect your urine for 12-24hrs to assess. They can try to bring down/manage your blood pressure with medication but the only real treatment of pre eclampsia is delivering your baby. If you’re worried I’d go and get checked out anyway because left untreated can be quite serious

I've gone in twice for heart palpitations. They took blood, blood pressure and urine. They asked if I was losing consciousness, having dizzy spells, difficulty breathing, light-headedness, hot flashes, etc. Did an EKG, everything came back normal. First time I was in for about 4hr waiting for all the tests, second time I was in for 2 hrs. I'm currently waiting for a holter monitor to rule out anything else. I have a heart murmur so they want to make sure it isn't anything serious. They're thinking/hoping it could be baby kicking my adrenal gland since everything comes and goes.

they find out pretty quick. i was admitted and induced because of it. they take blood and urine tests and blood pressure checks. i dont know how far along you are but i was 38 weeks, the treatment for me was having the baby lol and magnesium idk what they do for someone who is not full term so i dont have advice there
