Gestational diabetes

I have gestational diabetes and I’m on insulin injections nightly. Has anyone with GD been made to be induced?

i'm 35 weeks + 4 and i was told i will be induced at 39 weeks as of right now bc of my gestational diabetes but i have an appointment tomorrow to see if he wants it done sooner. had my growth ultrasound and instead of being 5lbs and 4oz he was 6lbs and 3oz so i have a feeling my dr will induce sooner than 39 weeks so my baby doesn't get too big.

I was induced at 37w 2d gave birth to a healthy 7lb 5oz baby boy I was on injections twice a day and metformin and never could get my sugars under control ever 2 weeks my dosage went up starting at week 13

@Teela how long after being induced did you have him? Xx

I was told it would be best to be induced at 39 weeks as they didn’t want me going past my due date as that when the risks increased for me and baby. I agreed to the induction and it took a week and she came out on her due date anyway 😂 a petite 6lb 12.5oz healthy little girl. I was on metformin, and nightly insulin and my dosage was being increased. I wasn’t able to eat anything really without it spiking so I actually lost a lot of weight in pregnancy and she came out smaller than expected. Listen to what they have to say, but weigh up the risks and benefits and make the decision that’s right for you - you don’t have to accept induction but I did because I was fed up and feeling like crap on all the medication and I was desperate to be able to eat something without feeling guilty!

Yeah I’m being induced in two weeks time at 38 weeks xx

You don't have to be induced, just do the work to stay in range. I know it's simple to say, but it's possible. I'm type 1 and I went to 39+3 with my baby. Best believe I worked my asssssss off lol. So I know it can be done. I know it's alot to learn in a short time-frame. Abuse the chatgpt for the nutrition info you need. Ask for freestyle Libre so u don't have to poke ur fingers 12 times a day. Get your own dietician cuz diabetic educator is basic. Keep exercising. Tip I used alot while pregnant, is to prebolus. If you notice ur blood sugars being stubbornly high after eating, even spiking take ur insulin 30-40-60min before eating. Yes it's a pain but it works. Sometimes you may have to split ur dose. 80% upfront and 20% 45min later. Digestion is different while pregnant. Slower. Anyways God luck sis. Inductions aren't bad. Get ur sweeps, drink the tea, eat dates with peanut butter, do some hypno birthing on YouTube

I was induced at 38 weeks I was on insulin as my morning numbers were high, they thought daughter would be big but she was only 7lb 2 and is still a dot now, induction was 4 days which ended in emergency section, if had choice again would of refused induction as wasn't pleasant for me and would of had a planned section, not all inductions are bad

First time baby and they are thinking about early induction for my be because my at 34 weeks baby is 7lbs probably more now. GD high night time levels … They keep saying big baby etc it worries me not even sure what will happen I’ll check in next week. I’m Nervous about c section because they say big baby big baby constantly .

@Laree idk take end of pregnancy ultrasound with some grain. They were convinced my baby was 25%tile cuz sis couldn't measure my baby's legs correctly. Went somewhere else and she was 47% sometimes human error needs to be accounted.
