Hi, I was induced at 39 weeks 2 days due to gestational diabetes. My husband and I stayed out late with friends the night before as a last hooray and wouldn't recommend doing that. I thought I would be able to catch some quality sleep at the hospital. I cried on the way to the hospital because I was so nervous. I got to the hospital at one cm and they gave me cervadil. that agitated the heck out of my lining. once that wasn't working they decided to move on to a foley balloon and gave me the option to get my epidural then as i would have to wait longer if i didn't want it at that time. I got my epidural and from there i felt nothing. I felt no contractions, the foley balloon worked at got me to four cm after a half hour, during this i was given pitocin. Once again, i felt nothing this whole time. I pushed for about two hours and baby boy slid right out. I felt some pressure the whole time but nothing awful. I think the stitches were there worst part. You got this! Best of luck!

When they pop ur waters it feels like a knitting needle up there it kinda hurts and feels weird I was on the hormone drip and I had to put it on the highest and I only got up to 3cm the contractions feel like period cramps all I was on was paracetamol and codamol

Mine was good. I had the pessary and it just kick started labour. Had 24 hours of contractions that built gradually, got to 5cm, they removed the pessary and took me to the labour ward. Just a regular labour with an episiotomy from that point, although I was on continuous monitoring which was a bit annoying.

@Lorna thank you for sharing glad you had a good experience! How many weeks were you?

@Alivia owch! Was the overall labour ok in the end?

I had to have a emergency c section as only got to 3cm and 18hrs in labour

Not aloud to eat and only drink water

My first I got induced at 41 weeks. Went in Wednesday afternoon and had her early Friday morning so it took forever but honestly my baby was stubborn, sunny side up, and had umbilical cord around her neck. I did bleed a lot afterwards and my placenta was stuck so I was iron for a while and baby went to NICU due to meconium. Second time I got induced at 40 weeks. Went in Wednesday night and had her Tuesday night with like 2 pushes and no tearing or any other issues. You are continuously monitored so you can’t move much but honestly I liked it because once I got the epidural, I just slept and got woke up when it was time to check and time to push

My induction was awful. Not scheduled and it took 3 days and I was almost a c section. They like doing those - just be cautious

Sorry I’m not being positive. It happened to my friend 2 weeks before me. And she was 41 weeks and I was 37

@Alivia oh no, sorry to hear that! I hope it was all ok in the end x

@Olivia aww I’m sorry to hear this! Thank you for sharing x

@Katie thanks for sharing x

I was induced the day before my baby was due since I wasn’t dilating and my fluids were starting to go down causing them to worry. It was painful and resulted in an emergency c-section as the contractions became too painful and my baby’s heart started to fail. In hindsight I wish I had fought more to find an alternative as the experience left me traumatized.

@Ruby I was 41 weeks. I was induced due to gestational diabetes. X

Induction leads to further interventions. Whether that be hormone drips, forceps, vaccum etc. I had a C-section instead of induction personally but it’s deffo not the easy route out lol x

I had a long induction and what helped me dilate was having nurses move me around in different positions and using a peanut ball. Induced at 37 weeks and body was not ready. Also held off on epidural as long as I could and insisted I eat up until then. Hospital policy is not law and the risk is super low. I even had it husband sneak me a few snacks as I needed the energy to push. Despite it being a long process and my epidural failed twice I am happy with my birth. Even tho induction was not my plan it ended up being safest option for my heart.

I was induced at 37 weeks and luckily I had a positive induction had the pessary and could only get to 2 1/2 cm before they tried to pop my waters but I needed the epidural for them to do that because I kept throwing up due to the pressure and after that I was told to rest and to sleep while the put me on pitocin and a couple hours later I was pushing ☺️

I was induced. My water broke on its on, but labor paused. After 27 hr labour, I gave birth to my little girl. I had no epidural. That hurt a ton. Don’t skip the epidural if you get induced lol. I had pitocin and I was labeled as “over-reactor” to the meds as they had to turn it way down as my contractions were happening seconds apart in early labour. It was unbearable

@Alivia this was exactly the same as me. I had the drip and only reached 3cm. I had to have an emergency C section after 17 hours😪 the contractions from the drip were horrific!

I was induced at 38weeks due to high blood pressure. Peasant caused my waters to partially break so they then manually did the rest (quite uncomfortable as someone else mentioned!) Then they put me on a pitocin drip expecting me to be 3cm dilated in a few hours, however it was super effective and despite them turning it down I delivered my baby after 2 hours much to everyone’s surprise!

I had the pessary and hormone drip, I was stuck on 2cm for 16+ hours ended up in an emergency cesarean for suspected sepsis

I was induced for high blood pressure - the pessary didn’t start labour but it did help to dilate my cervix enough to allow them to break my waters - once my waters were broken I started having contractions immediately so didn’t need the drip. I was fully dilated within 7 hours. Baby was back to back so I ended up with an epidural when I was 6/7cm and the relief was incredible. I pushed for 2 hours with no intervention and baby was born. Was so happy with my experience ❤️

@Jadie oh gosh that sounds awful but glad it was all ok in the end! X

@Ness oh no, so sorry to hear this. Was the c section ok in the end?x

@Jade thank you for sharing! Sounds like you had a good experience, how many weeks were you?x

@Ruby 38 + 6 :)
