@Stephanie Louis-Juste ugh, I hate this part. Thank you and Good luck to you too!! 🥹
@Chandra I might end up just reaching out one last time tomorrow. I just don’t want to come off as desperate or annoying though ..
Just a tip: Don't send follow-up emails on a Friday or late afternoon right before quitting time. I always timed these emails for the morning during work hours. If you're super excited, then write it and schedule it. This situation: You can reach out to the initial interviewer but schedule the email wisely. I would leave it alone after that.
Reach out because the recruiter works with A LOT of people. Not saying you’re not a priority but…they get swamp too. In the meantime, keep applying for job. It’s actually better to have multiple offers on the table because you can use that as financial negotiation—especially if the company really wants you. My husband recently jumped to a new company and used this method to get more than the original pay offer.
@Whitley that makes sense. I figured that it probably wouldn’t get much attention since it was a Friday so I made sure to send it earlier in the morning, but I guess that didn’t matter much either lol.
@S. annalese no I get that %100. Good on your husband. That’s smart. This job market is tough though. I’ve been applying to a lot of places, I’ve only heard back from like 1 or 2 jobs I’ve actually really wanted, this particular one being one of those I really wanted and not hearing back. I’ve gotten 2 offers already from other positions that I didn’t really care for or that changed last minute so I’m feeling a little deflated and I’m in the healthcare field, so either my resume sucks, which I feel pretty accomplished so idk or the market is really trash right now or both lol idk 🤷🏻♀️
I’m a recruiter. Do not panic at all. It’s probably nothing to do with you. Panel interviews are extremely hard to set up with competing schedules and internal recruiters have a terrible time wrangling the department team members a lot of the time. The recruiter is probably bonused on new hires so they want to expedite but the department is hiring so they are under water capacity wise already and can’t easily go through the hiring process most likely. Always stick to normal best practices and see how things pan out. Best practice is to send one follow up to the recruiter and send a thank you to the person who interviewed you. I would send an email to the interviewer if you haven’t and just say thank you for your time, mention how your experience aligns with the role and you would be a strong team member and then say you are excited for next steps. Not expressing interest is the quickest way to get passed on, people want to be wanted so they want someone who is really excited.
Im going through the same thing!! Ugh 😩 im soo nervous this one was my final interview. I would give it until Tomorrow afternoon. The recruiter is probably busy. But by Wednesday, try applying for other positions. I wouldn’t reach out again. Good Luck 🍀
