How much breast milk to give.

So I express breast milk to give to my little one in a bottle. She is just over 4 weeks old, how do I know how much to give her? I cannot find any guidelines anywhere only for formula. Do I give her the recommended formula amount or is it like breast feeding where I just feed her what she wants? TIA

I express for bottle feeding and breast feed, my baby has between 80-110mls in one go from a bottle, but I only tend to give her 1/2 bottles a day and breast feed the rest of the time

Sometimes that depends on little ones weight to figure out how much is needed to express for her and other times little one might want a little bit extra then what’s recommended.

I express too for my little one, and he takes around 70-80ml at 3 weeks, he was premature though. Maybe start around 70/80ml and top it up by 10ml if she looks like she’s looking for more.

I’ve always wondered the same - I recently read 30ml for every hour since they last fed.. but not sure how correct/accurate that is? I tend to loosely follow this and she seems pretty happy. I also nurse her myself in the evenings though x

I have a 3 week old and I'm expressing breast milk to give in bottles also. I'm giving 140-150ml every 2-4 hours as he's a hungry baby. The health visitor told me to give at least 120ml every 3 hours last week, but I'm just going with what baby wants - baby led feeds. I personally wouldn't worry too much about guidelines and go with what baby wants, hope this helps

Thank you for all your help☺️

@Val thank you, I just didn’t know if there was a limit so think I’ll just go with what she wants- I’ve got the health visitor next week so I’ll ask her☺️

We’re on 120ml every 2-3 hours with a 3 week old.
