For non natural colors, it's very normal for the color to fade quickly even if it's a "permanent" dye.
My aunts a hairdresser and I asked her just to make sure I had the right idea and she agreed. Your hair just may not hold the colour well, mine usually ran out like that 3-4 weeks later. Unfortunately having a colour like this can be very high maintenance depending on your hair type. Semi permanent dye always works better for me then permanent dyes for some reason
@Samantha I’m thinking I just use a box hair dye to get my normal brown back
I've had mine coloured a couple weeks ago and she said to use special shampoo and come back in about 8 weeks for a touch up. Colour looks still great x
Yeah I’d say this is completely normal! For fashion colours it’s always going to fade and never be the same as when you first got it done! It also depends on how porous your hair is/was. Even things like applying heat can strip the colour!
It’s likely normal especially if it was a semi permanent dye, the brand of dye matters a lot for how vivids deposit & hold / fade. But I do see you said it was a permanent dye which makes me raise my eyebrow slightly, but I’d also have more questions about how frequently you’ve washed your hair & how much heat you’ve used in styling it n all that
@Parker 又 zero heat color specific salon grade shampoo and conditioner and only wash at most 3x a week
Yeh that’d lead me to ask if the dye itself was actually permanent or if it was a semi permanent dye, I’ve had nearly every color under the sun and pink and red in particular don’t typically fade out super easy, However they do make color depositing shampoos and conditioners if you were interested in trying to keep it the nice deep fuchsia color (:
Are you using supermarket brand "colour safe" shampoo and conditioner? I got my hair done recently and it faded within a week. Hairdresser re did it for free but explained it was due to using supermarket brand. I used some hairdresser brand products and it lasted much longer.
@Nicole just be careful with box dye
@Ella nope got it from the stylist at the salon

Was your hair bleached at all under this colour? If so I’d certainly expect this level of fading, it takes a lot of repeat colouring before the colour properly starts to hold.

Your hair looks from your pictures bleached prior meaning your hair will be more porous, this means colour will “slip” and fade far quicker. Semi permanent is better than permanent when dying to achieve vivid colours especially over built up bleach. Not the semi permanent that you wash in wash out, I still mean salon quality semi that is mixed with a lower vol.% peroxide
This does seem normal to me, even though it’s permanent they still do fade considerably quickly
