Oh I've always used just boiled water to do the hot shot bit, I thought that was the recommendation to kill the bacteria! Cos if you used the nuby cool with the formula directly in there it would be just boiled water. And if you're waiting that long you may as well not use the nuby and just do the waiting 30 mins after the kettle boils method? But I don't know now!
@Holly yeah no idea! I always wait like 20 mins for water to cool just in case haha. I’ve used nuby for night feeds and would make the whole milk in there. On their website it says you don’t have to wait for water to cool prior using as it starts to cool as soon as you put it in there with powder
Ahhh right yeah ok that does make sense! Worrying about our hot shot method now 😅 but my little boy has 8oz at a time and that's too much to do in the nuby itself really cos it froths up so much
@Holly Im sure it’s fine I was just wondering as I’ve heard someone saying it - but most people use hot shot so it must not be true! I want to try myself as waiting for kettle to boil is not it haha
Water needs to be 70° minimum for formula to be added to it. I do it as soon as the kettles done boiling
@Rheo yeah I know I just wondered if boiled might be too hot as that’s around 100 degrees and boxes tell you to wait x
No the waiting 30 mins is to make sure it’s cooked enough to drink (even though we all know it would take longer). They are saying after 30m water should still be 70 degrees which is the min to kill bacteria. Xxx
Really I heard that you have to use the kettle water within 30 mins and that it kills bacteria so I just use it straight away do the hot shot method my baby is too impatient lol 😂
