Overwhelmed and a bit lost!

Hey guys! I hope you’re all having a lovely Easter bank holiday weekend. I guess I just needed some reassurance / guidance. I feel like I’ve been learning bc a lot about what our body’s are doing during pregnancy and how the baby is developing along the way. However, whenever I think about the baby actually being here, I feel so overwhelmed and lost! Like how do you know where to learn about sensory development, or any signs to look out for, or how to improve cognitive abilities, how long they have tummy time for. At this rate I feel like I’m going to be a Google mum 😂. I’d appreciate any tips or advice!

I felt like this with my first but to be honest it comes naturally, you follow their lead and when/if something doesn’t feel right you just know. I suppose if you want to learn more there’ll be many baby books that can answer your questions above but every baby/child is different and will develop in their own time x

I do use the internet for a lot but also when you give birth you see the health visitor a few times for weighing and baby check ins you can always ask these questions then I would just start making note of all of them now if you can also your midwives should have a lot of information but I did find that different people would say different things so your own research is imperative

I second what Niro said. I think everyone is just winging it and your natural maternal instincts kick into action and you’ll just know what to do at the time. Peanut is always good to post on and see what everyone else is asking/up to. I’m due my second in August and feel much more relaxed but I felt the same as you about my first two years ago! You got this mama!!

Thank you so much guys, you’ve made me feel so much lighter I truly appreciate it 🤍🤍 our mummy instincts for the win!!!

100% agree with everyone, you just wing it and your instincts take over. I had a good app with my first called wonder weeks, basically goes through each week and what they might be learning, activities you can do along with when they go through developmental leaps. 😊
