Starting work tomorrow

Tomorrow was supposed to be my first day back in work after maternity leave, instead I’ve been made redundant & start a new job, like you, but in June & full time! Totally scared and overwhelmed. Hope you have a lovely first day x

@Jen thank you. I’m returning to an NHS trust I worked for before Australia. They’ve been so accommodating. I was due to start Jan 7th and got the job last July. Tomorrow’s the day. Just 2 days this week and next but then I’ll be 3 days a week. I’m doing long days (3.5 days a week over 3) - so we’ll just have to see how I go. 🤍🤍

Thank you I slept well last night really However I’ve woken up in tears again. I just feel I’ll be too long out the house 😭💛

@Hayley nooooo, that wasn’t my intention 😔 Glad you managed to get a good nights sleep ready for first day. Take it 1 day at a time, before you know it, will be your new routine! Is your girl with family or nursery?

@Gemma she’s with Nanna ~ mum said to me this morning “you’ve got to stop all this” (crying). I’m 100% in my own head today knowing that what we had for the last year has changed now. I may be part time - but I’m no longer her FT mum (if that makes sense) 🥹 Also got to work 30 mins early 😂 Need to work on that going forward! Have a good day all.

@Hayley she’ll have an absolutely fun day with Nanna 🩷 I completely get you! My first day I cried 3 times before I even made it to the train 😅 You’ll get there with timings, all trial and error as you’re in a new job! Hope you have a great first day - you’ll have to update us later how you get on

Thanks all. So leaving her was so sad BUT with regards to work - I was totally fine 😂 Didn’t have my phone on me much (secure ward) so couldn’t get obsessed with checking. Nanna took her for her 1 year jabs. I was able to alter my hours to end at 4 (8-5:30 is too long for me to be away from her) and was home by 4:40 - so overall, a pretty successful day ❣️
