Neck and lower head pain after epidural?
I had my baby girl on April 10th and got an epidural with an emergency c section. They ended up giving me too much epidural to where my bp bottomed out and it was not fun. I was diagnosed with chronic hypertension at 6 weeks and have been on meds since. I became preeclamptic at the end to the point where it also played a factor in the emergency c section. Anywayssss I’ve had the worse headache for the pass two days in the back of my head/neck. My OB appointment isn’t until next Tuesday and I’m just trying to figure out if this is normal with epidurals? I’m prone to tension headaches and the pain gets better when I’m standing. I talked to my insurance RN and she thinks it’s due to my posture of getting up to breastfeed and holding my baby. Someone please give me some insight. I also don’t have any of the other symptoms of preeclampsia.
There’s this lady on tik tok she’s a nurse that talks about epidural. And she says that many women have spoken of back pain and headaches and blame it on the epidural. She also said that epidural shouldn’t cause headaches or back pain. Most back pain is cause from the weight of the baby and the headaches, I’ve had them recently with my something and it’s definitely posture related as soon as I fixed the way I breastfed him the pain went away.
