Midwife appointments after birth

Yes! I was similar as high BP and extra monitoring for baby post nicu. I found it all too much and was glad that they finished

Yeah I found it so hard as they didn't give you a time just between 9 and 4 so I felt like I couldn't start anything or even jump in the shower incase they turned up.

The lack of a time was annoying but the visits weren’t bad as they were with my midwife I’d seen throughout the pregnancy.

Soooo annoying! Especially when they don’t even give you times or give you a huge window of when they will arrive so you can’t do anything! I felt really grumpy about them all. We were 3 weeks PP yesterday and they have stopped now luckily x

The waiting around is frustrating, but the midwives I’ve seen have all been lovely. We got discharged from their care on Thursday and I actually felt a bit sad!

Yes, we were in hospital 11 days so often feel like being left alone now home xx

@Kdec22 I thought I was the only one and was weird for feeling sad about it🙈😂

We have had extra visits because of weight loss but sounds like we have been fortunate as it’s been with the same midwife I saw in pregnancy and she has given an approximate time and been pretty good at arriving on time but sounds like we have been really lucky!

Yep, really restricting especially when the dads only get two weeks off. The appointments take up so many of the days. Wish they just gave you a slot x

@Zoe we’re having that too. So glad that yours is with the same midwife. We had a maternity support worker come out and she was so awful! Made me feel like I wasn’t feeding baby. Told me that as he’d lost just over 8% he’d had to be put on a plan. Went to triage for me and asked the hospital about it. They weighed him and she’d gotten the weight slightly wrong and said it’s totally normal for babies to lose up to 10% and they’ll just weigh him a bit extra but he’s starting to gain a little bit which is better than losing xx

@Mollie yes! This has what’s been getting to me. It’s the paternity thing. Just want to be in our own little bubble without waiting in all day for someone to rock up. I know they are there to help which we’re grateful for but it’s also such a key time which dads don’t get back xx

@Kayleigh I feel grumpy about them too! I know they are just making sure me and baby are ok. Tomorrow we have the health visitor AND midwife coming separately. It’s going to be a fun day 🤪🤪

Now that it’s just the HV’s we go out🙈 they call when they’re on route and we just make it back in time hahaa. It’s such a waste of a day orherwise. Feel like midwives are diff but the HV just interrogate anyway 🤣

@Mollie I was given a verbal safe sleep test by my HV yesterday who kept saying “now this isn’t a test” 😆
