Question about VBAC

If you had a c section for your first baby, how long did you go before giving birth again and was it a VBAC or C-section and if it was a VBAC, was it successful? Would 21months (got pregnancy at 12months post c section) after a c section be fine for a vBAC? TIA x

Hospital normally advise 18-24 months.

@Ayomide Abiola is that inbetween pregnancies or births?

Pregnancy

@Ayomide Abiola well yes I know that but things happen and my question was if it’s possible to have a VBAC after getting pregnant 12 months after or not

Yes, it is definitely possible to have a successful VBAC even if you got pregnant 12 months after your C-section. Getting pregnant 12 months after a C-section does not disqualify you from trying for a VBAC. As long as your pregnancy is healthy, your scar is the right type, and your doctor agrees, you can attempt a VBAC.

Tried for a vbac at 21 months and was sadly unsuccessful, but was encouraged to try. We dropped the consultant though when we knew baby was all good and I wasn’t at risk. I found the consultants quite pushy, so it was nice to make plans without their input. We decided to try at a birthing centre attached to the hospital so if anything went wrong we were right there x

I had a C-section with my first & a VBAC with my second ☺️ got pregnant 19 months after having my daughter so had my son 2 years & 4 months after giving birth the first time xx
