I’m always one for waiting 24hrs to see how baby acts but recently my OB said her rule is, if you haven’t felt them in 3hrs or longer and you’ve tried the usual ice cold sugary drink or sweet treat and nothing has worked to call straight away. If you are this close to the end of pregnancy, maybe it’s worth a call. My baby has this dramatic tendency to go quiet for ages and the minute I call triage will go back to being over active. They might offer induction if you’ve had consistent reduction in movements throughout late stage pregnancy, it all depends really.
I went there this morning and apparently everything is fine. I’m due in a week and honestly is pretty scary when they go completely quiet. They’ve saw me in less than 10 min and I was out of the hospital in less than an hour. So yes, worth to get yourself checked x
I would always say it’s better to be safe than sorry. My LG had a day where no movements got there and she was living her best life. Coming from someone who has to have a lot of check ups the midwife’s always say in doubt get checked out. Hopefully there is nothing but don’t leave it. X
If you have tried the normal things laying on your left side eating something sweet or cafine and still she isn't bouncing around I would be getting checked tonight. You won't know if she moves while your sleeping I always think I would rather go now than in the middle of the night. Best to get checked and it be nothing at all
Why would they offer an induction?
@Scarlett when it’s at the end and baby moves are less it’s a sign of heart rate being low. From 38 weeks it’s safe for baby to be out so there’s no reason to keep him in!
They won’t offer an induction unless somethings wrong or you’re 39 weeks. Please don’t wait til morning though if you’re concerned. From 37 weeks you’re classed as full term so any problems they will bring baby. However my babies HR has been skipping a beat, and nothing but a scan has been requested
They honestly would rather you went in to be checked than didn’t. I was really worried about this type of thing in my first pregnancy but this time round realise what’s at stake maybe more so I just call the midwives a lot more. It really is what they want you to do :) Could just be that baby has moved and you’re feeling things differently etc….
Definitely go to the maternity assessment centre and get her monitored. They should be open 24/7 if you wanted to call tonight too! I went in not so long ago and they were totally reassuring ☺️
