Period-like cramps at 5w+4

Hi everyone, I’m 5 weeks into my second pregnancy and I’m having period-like cramps in my upper thighs, mostly on the right and my abdomen near my appendix, although they switch with my left side not hurting as much but still hurting. My back hurts on the lower left. It’s exactly the type of pain I get before I would begin my gushing period, so I’m literally checking my underwear in fear all the time. The pain has been going on for about 3 days now, and won’t let up. I don’t remember getting this pain this early or even during my first pregnancy, but I was working full time and in full stress mode. I am NOT bleeding, it’s just these cramps that are worrying me. Should I go to A&E? Should I just keep taking paracetamol? Is this normal? If so, when does this pain end? Please help a fellow mum!

Sorry you're experiencing this. I know period like cramps are normal throughout the 1st trimester, but if they are quite intense, maybe call your midwife unit and see what they say. Xx
