Call them and say exactly that, say you’ll gladly provide a bank statement. You’re not paying twice and don’t need something going to collections you’ve already paid for. Ask why you’re getting this in the mail, it was paid for.
@Haley well they actually are very transparent with price. So your first appointment is taking insurance (if you have any), running that. Then see what procedures you need/ want done. before you leave the will print out a full chart of the cost of your wants/ needs. So I had a root canal (and will need several) and they told me the exact price with and without dental insurance (with my insurance company specifically). So this way I’m not caught off guard paying on procedure day. So I already know exactly the cost, and they broke it down (medication, numbing cream, the crown, etc). Again, the cost was never an issue and they really enforced “pay before you get work done” whereas most places in the medical field send you a bill after said visit. Also the additional $20 add on makes no sense. But I will call them on Monday for an explanation and a copy of the receipt they gave me and a bank statement. Because to pay twice when I have dental insurance is CRAZY work.
@Kovashya yes! This was my concern “collections”. Because I’m not paying twice for one root canal procedure….i have 3 more to get done and I have to space those out so I can comfortably afford it.😅😭
Call them immediately with a proof of payment and ask the to check over their accounts receivable for that date and amount. If for some reason they made a mistake it must fixed asap to reflect paid. If the card did not decline and they show no payment made, have them re-bill and explain what occurred to update the account. I hope I read your response correctly- good luck.
Call them. Do you have proof that you paid the initial $470 to them day of the appointment? Like an itemized receipt of what exactly was out of your pocket and what does their bill for $490 say as far as the break down?
My kid’s dentist sends bills with an amount owed that says in small print not to pay it yet because they haven’t billed insurance and to wait for the next statement. It is weird. Have you looked over the whole invoice for any small print?
Could it be that it was only the estimated amount insurance covered? And they ended up not covering as much as previously thought? I think most insurance things happen after the fact. Aka they do not pay before the procedure
