@Abbie feel the same!
The more you push yourself to do too early on, you might find you bleed again - this was the case for me anyway and then I’d be like ‘okay, I’m clearly still recovering so time to slow down’. The bleeding stopped completely by around 5 weeks PP but even then I took it really slow at introducing more walks and housework etc 😊
I'm 3 weeks pp and the same, some days I think it's completely gone then I'll get a bit more again
C section bleeding can fluctuate while you recover. This has been the case after both my sections. The more that I did, the more my bleeding increased in the early days. With my first section I bled on and off/heavy and light for around 4 weeks. I’m currently 3.5 weeks PP with my second and still bleeding slightly.
Yeah I’m 3 weeks and 5 days PP completely stopped for a couple of days then started again xxx
I only bled for 2 weeks but the bleeding was heavier if I was more active. I think it's pretty normal
I had a C-section in December and I believe it could be up to 6 weeks it is not going to be consistent all the time tho at least wasn’t for me.. but I remember after the first 2 weeks pp not bleeding for days and then a random day have some bleeding again… the midwife said was normal as long as there weren’t any big clotts
Not to scare anyone but I was told by GP bleeding shouldn’t stop and start again. I thought I had a bit too much bleeding but ignored it after googling it. I started to feel unwell over the next couple of days and when I saw the midwife for an appointment I was readmitted because I was going septic due to hemorrhanging. My OB said to me that I had a good outcome but if I left it another day or two I could have ended up in ICU. If you are worried about bleeding more then see a health professional
Asked heal baby care app and sharing in case it helps: "It's common to experience some changes in bleeding after a C-section, especially as you become more active. Light bleeding or spotting can occur as your body heals, but if you notice a significant increase in bleeding or if it becomes bright red, it's important to monitor it closely. Make sure to rest when needed and avoid strenuous activities. If the bleeding continues to increase or if you have any other concerning symptoms, such as severe pain or fever, it would be wise to reach out to your healthcare provider for further evaluation. How have you been feeling otherwise during your recovery?"
I would second what Claire has said as I bled for a long time but my GP said it was fine as long as the bleeding was consistently getting less. They said it would only be a concern if it was stopping and starting/not consistently getting less.
Following cos how long are we meant to bleed for? Some days it appears to be over, only to come back again. I’m almost 3 weeks post section
