Did anyone’s contractions hurt when their water broke?

I remember a nurse asking me if i was having contractions when i first came to the hospital. I told her no because i didnt feel anything after my water broke. She hooked me up. An hour later, she asked again and i said no. She looked at the screen and it was clear that i was having it. I told her i dont feel it all. My son was breech and i had to wait 5 hours until i can get a c section. I never felt anything though.

Hmmm.... Option 4, I don't actually remember. I'm either so sleep deprived that my mind has no strength to attempt remembering OR our memories are wiped by nature straight after delivery so we can be 'silly' enough to go through it all again.🧐

@Vee wow i never thought that was a possibility. If you took the epidural, maybe that made you forget

Possibly...🤔

That's wild. I've never heard of anyone who couldn't feel contractions without an epidural or drugs. You're lucky.

I’ve never heard of no pain with labor! That must be so nice! For me contractions hurt so bad both times I couldn’t hold myself up I was crying and I remember screaming a time or to…

@Bethany same, i was expecting the pain was going to hit me outta nowhere. It did worry me, i thought it wasn’t normal

I got an epidural and then the dr broke my water so I didn't feel anything lol

When I was. Hooked. To monitor untill I reached 5cm and contractions were coming thick and fast (hormone drip) I never. Felt a single one I was. Having contractions on and. Off. For 5 days when on monitor and never felt a single. One I just. Thought my little girl was wriggling. About and they was big contractions on the monitor too

@Keyara i’m sorry mama, did you end up getting an epidural or did you ride it out?

@Moira sorry if im asking an ignorant question, how come you had to give birth even though your water didnt break?

Also went from 5cm to 10cm within minutes on hormone drip

@Joy i had to look up hormonal drip and it sounds painful. Glad you didnt feel your contractions

It’s not as bad as I thought. It was going to be in. All honesty, I’d have. It again if I needed. To

After my water broke the pain was like twice as bad and progressively worse!! I was also induced though so not sure if that played a part. Second labor they had to break my water shortly before I delivered my daughter so idk the contractions had been painful for like 12hrs at that point

They had to break my water both times I was pregnant. First one, contractions were bad but manageable. But once st the hospital I asked for an epidural immediately cause I got scared of how bad it’ll be lol. Second one, contractions were intense from the get go. I dealt with bad contractions for an hour thinking it’ll go away because similar thing happened about weeks prior. Once i realized the pain wasn’t going away and just kept intensifying, I woke up my bf and told him we had to go. Delivered 30 mins after we got to the hospital.

I didn't feel my contractions until I hit 5 centimeters. When I was first admitted the nurse told me that I was at a 3. I didn't feel the contractions and my belly wasn't getting rock hard but the monitor was showing that I was having contractions

My contractions hurt from start to finish, I don’t remember what point was what🤣🤣

I really do think it depends on the persons pain tolerance, like mine is at 0 so I knew it would hurt from the get go🫣

I've heard of this, some women really do have painless contractions

With my 3rd baby, my water broke before any painful contractions started. I was having mild contractions that I could barely feel until they started pitocin to speed things up and then it became painful.

I was 38+6 when I went into labor, the contractions started and I kept progressing.. I got the epidural when I was about 5cm and they broke my water when i was about 6cm... idk why. My water just didn't break on its own

My contractions always start mild and build up. My water breaks on an extremely hard contraction and POP!

I didn’t even FEEL my contractions until my water was broken (i was induced) then I got one BIG contraction as soon as my waters were popped and then only felt a few more contractions after this, the main thing I felt was jsut pressure when I was pushing my little girl out (I was told to push when I had a contraction, but I couldn’t feel them so I just pushed whenever I thought I was having one….)

My mom had painless contractions and delivered 3 babies vaginally (1 singleton and a set of twins) unfortunately I didn't get that lucky haha
