I had an elective due to a bladder prolapse caused by my first birth. I found the first 5 days quite hard. I was really limited in my movements due to how uncomfortable my stitches were. I had to take it really slow but then it all suddenly eased and I was much more comfortable. In a way if you expect the worse you will probably be pleasantly surprised. And if it feels really tough to start with just know things will improve and probably more quickly if you can rest whenever possible. Although I think some gentle moving around is recommended. The actual experience of having the c section was really positive and the operating team were all so lovely. Take the pain killers you are prescribed. They will help your body to relax and get on with healing. Best wishes
I was out for walks on day 3 and felt pretty normal by week 2. Everyone will be different but getting up and about helped my recovery for sure.
I found my recovery extremely difficult, and my partner had to do everything because I just could barely move, lift myself up or do anything with my baby, I was like that for over a month, afterwards it got better for me. I did walk around in hospital on day 1 and onwards it was extremely difficult for me and I slept on a chair, but everyone is differant, I see others experiences are much more better than mine
Had an emergency section December 31st. I had a really good recovery. As soon as I could feel my legs I was up and walking. I was driving again by day 10. Please don't do this until you check your insurance though :)
