I told my bosses early because i was sick. I told everyone in my department once I had an ultrasound and new everything was looking good
I told my manager very early on, because we were friends first and honestly if God-forbid something bad were to happen, I would have wanted him to know anyways. After the first trimester, I shared with the rest of the team individually-not in a big announcement type of way. It’s a personal decision, but it felt good to get it out there confidently and happily-and people responded in the same way.
I waited with my last one until 8 months. I just wore layers and tucked shirts to hide it. My team is just negative and full of gossip, and I'm totally opposite. I didn't want any negative energy near my baby. I only see my boss about 3 times per year and told him at about 5 months just because I have a history of losses and wanted him to be aware in case something went wrong. This time, I'm having twins, and it's getting hard to hide. I haven't told my boss yet either, but I'm thinking I may need to tell around 20 weeks. I think it's whatever you feel most comfortable with. Most places only legally require a months notice- depending on location. I may not even tell my team and just show up with a tight shirt and huge belly one day lol.
I told my work pretty early. First reasoning, I showed super early (second kid). Second, some of them thought I was bringing stomach flu to the office 😂 Third, I previously had a miscarriage and it was helpful for no one to question why I was taking time off with no warning. But it’s such an individual choice!
@Cristal this!! My team is also super negative and full of gossip and I completely relate about not wanting any of that near my baby! Luckily I only have to go into the office half of my week. I’ve also contemplated just not telling anyone until they figure it out lol
I told my manager and planned to let coworkers find out on IG when I announce but I told a couple people last day I worked and it was very sweet :)
I told my bosses about 11ish weeks since I had my review. I just went public this past weekend. That’s how everyone I work with knew. Im either friends with them on social media or they heard from someone else that I am
