I was exactly the same as Amie, I had an amazing experience! I took all my meds when needed also used my morphine it was great! I am the same my little boy will nearly be 3 when I am due in August, I had a specialist midwife call me this morning offering me a VBAC and I said I am 100% going for another c section, I just think it’s no stress! You’re in baby out, sewed up etc then out the next day all being well. I had to have one with my first as I had a low lying placenta and placenta praevia xx
I had an emergency with my first. I recovered really well, was walking the next day, no issues with my scar, the only real pain I got was sitting up and was easier to roll out of bed. This time I have already signed for my consents for an elective. I am open to a vbac is she comes naturally earlier than this, but like you due to medical reasons I know they will advise not to go overdue and I’m not being induced as I just don’t respond to the meds. The scans can be wrong, but my first wad measuring no big and she was big and I couldn’t push her out, hence the emergency c section.
Hey, everyone’s different but no regret with mine. I was walking the same day and went home after one night. People scare you with bad recovery stories but I think when it’s elective you’re body is rested so it’s completely different. Pain wise just take all your medication and you should be fine - I genuinely didn’t have any pain after with the meds, was just conscious of not moving too much and pulling a stitch! So you do need to rest. This was my experience with my first.. I’m planning the same for my second but definitely a bit more worried with regards to a toddler not realising you can’t do much lol, but if you have support to help with them you’ll be fine. Good luck xx
