My growth scan was wrong in the other direction and I had an 11lb 8oz baby vaginally. He was predicted to be 8lb. He was my second, and my first was over 9lb, so it wasn’t my first rodeo with big babies and I could tell he was bigger than my first. My second did need some help to be born - the shoulder dystocia position and an episiotomy. He needed some resuss help to start breathing too, but I was reassured that he was a good colour, so they weren’t too worried. The midwives pressed the emergency button when his head was out but he wasn’t coming any further. It really is remarkable to see how everyone floods in and does what needs to be done to get baby into the world well and safely. I’d recommend hypnobirthing if you are considering vaginal. I think half the battle is just believing your body can do it. Good luck with whichever you choose xxx
This is estimated and can be wrong, usually they are incorrect by 15/20%. A big baby alone is not a reason to have any intervention/c section. Do some research yourself and use the BRAIN acronym. X
