No antenatal appointment until 10-12 weeks

I think it’s absolutely disgusting that down south you don’t get contacted by a midwife until your 10-12 weeks!! All their websites say care from day 1 but where is the care? Unless you’re to book privately you don’t have any reassurance that your pregnancy is going okay.

I don't think you get it anywhere, so it's not just down south. During lockdown you didn't even get that.

@Minna it’s definitely not! I moved from up north recently and with my last pregnancy I got appointments very often but down here rhey just don’t seem to care as much… from all the people I’ve spoken to they’ve had bad things to say about their midwives

Sorry to hear you've had such a bad experience. I guess I was lucky as I've only ever come across one unpleasant midwife and all the others have been lovely. They do have to follow the NHS rules so they cannot give you any extra scans even if they wanted to.

@Minna it’s not the scans I’m on about as I understand you can only have the two nhs ones I’m talking about the midwife antenatal appointments or lack thereof

Ah I see. With my first I had loads of midwife appointments as I suffered with anxiety and had issues with my platelets. I saw my midwife a lot. And I had her number so I could message her when I needed advice. I also went to Aqua Natal that was run by a midwife so I saw her once a week. With my second I didn't see a midwife hardly at all as it was in 2020. I guess the service has gone downhill after COVID.
