No I think that sounds healthy but you could check with your health visitor. I had a quick Google and they say up to 32 oz of water a day but that’s with them drinking more milk so your child balances out on the ozs
@Isobel aaaaa okay she has 16 oz a day of cow milk and water the rest of the day
Online says 16-24oz of milk and 16-32oz of water but individual toddlers needs are different depending on how active they are. So your child is within that range and the extra water balances out the milk. If you are concerned, you could get them checked but if it’s just other people that seem worried and you’re not then I’d ignore them. Sounds like a healthy baby to me x
@Isobel thank you ! 🙏🏻 reassures me xx people always have lots to say when it’s not their kid 🥲
just to throw this out there, there is such thing as too much water. not saying that this is the case here of course, just wanted to mention it since you asked
@Sarah oh wow really !
I’m writing this update to let you guys know that I spoke to the paediatrician and she thinks those could be symptoms of diabetes, especially because diabetes runs in my family. We will go to blood test on Monday to rule that out, but I’m really freaking out. She’s mostly concerned because no matter how much she drinks she’s constantly thirsty all day.
Second update : she doesn’t have diabetes she has a sensory processing disorder !
Thanks for the update. Is there anything they can do to help her with her sensory disorder or are they not worried about it?
@Isobel it wasn’t just a water. She had a lot of other symptoms that are attached. to sensory processing disorder she’s currently not concerned about it. She just said to maybe try to space it so she doesn’t drink as much but bigger amounts so I will be trying that and we will have an assessment at 18 months old.
That’s really good that they’re not concerned yet but will monitor things. I hope everything goes well for her x
@Isobel thanks ! I have sensory issues myself but mostly with clothing things like that so not really surprise she has some sort of sensitivity issues 😅
Family told me could be signs of diabetes ? Are they overreacting ?
