Birth review / notes

Today I asked my health visitor about getting a birth review and getting access to my maternity notes due to having a traumatic birth / end of pregnancy and the first thing she asked if I was planning on taking legal action due to what happened to me I was abit shocked when she asked as I never thought about untill she asked but has anyone got told this before or is she saying this as i might have a case?

That's really strange and honestly none of her business. I got a birth debrief, asked my health visitor and she just referred me no questions asked. I think I'd tell her you'd just want to discuss the details and get the full story and leave it at that

I’d say it’s due to so many possible mistakes being made in recent times and where they haven’t listened to mums resulting in possible legal cases. I know one consultant i seen completed disregarded me wanting a planned section and ended up and emergency section anyway with another consultant and picked up sepsis during labour in the process. They was at the end of Covid restrictions and I got my notes home until I was discharged from midwife at home. My sister was a nurse and had an interesting read of them
