Birth review / notes
Today I asked my health visitor about getting a birth review and getting access to my maternity notes due to having a traumatic birth / end of pregnancy and the first thing she asked if I was planning on taking legal action due to what happened to me
I was abit shocked when she asked as I never thought about untill she asked but has anyone got told this before or is she saying this as i might have a case?

I’d say it’s due to so many possible mistakes being made in recent times and where they haven’t listened to mums resulting in possible legal cases. I know one consultant i seen completed disregarded me wanting a planned section and ended up and emergency section anyway with another consultant and picked up sepsis during labour in the process. They was at the end of Covid restrictions and I got my notes home until I was discharged from midwife at home. My sister was a nurse and had an interesting read of them

That's really strange and honestly none of her business. I got a birth debrief, asked my health visitor and she just referred me no questions asked. I think I'd tell her you'd just want to discuss the details and get the full story and leave it at that
