Xonvea is the only one helping me but I'm still sick x
@Emma I’ve been prescribed that still throwing up 😢
@Rachael never heard of that before. Sounds useful though
They also use it for chemo patients
How long have you actually been on Xonvea for? It reduced my sickness but didn’t stop it all. I have hyperemisis that bad that I’ve been sick the whole way through, I’m now 38 weeks
Have you tried Ondansetron in combo with Xonvea? Only thing that helped me was both together
@Fran yeah I was on ondansetron then moved onto xonvea but they’re not helping
@Jess only 3 days but I’m still being sick the same amount as when I wasn’t on them. Sorry, it’s horrible isn’t it 😢
@Megan I’m sorry, it sucks. Your next step may be steroids
@Megan you’ve gotta keep going with them, 3 days isn’t enough for them to be working yet properly. Takes 2 days to be able to take more than 2 a day anyway. Keep taking them cause honestly they’re the only real survival if you do have hyperemsis
xonvea never worked for me either so don’t feel forced to keep going it it’s not working, only thing that helped was being on a drip with the meds for awhile . are you able to stay in hospital ? i know it’s not ideal but i could eat and drink whilst hooked up to the drip and that built my strength and sanity
Have you increased the dosage as recommended at all? So starts off with 2 tablets at night then increase to 1 in the morning and 2 at night then can also further increase to 1 in the morning, 1 at lunch time and 2 at night. If not go back to your GP and they will look at second line treatments. I would maybe suggest requesting metoclopramide as this is a second line treatment but should only be taken for 5 days as per NICE guidelines. Please also keep into consideration that you are week 9 (from your bio) and this is when you hCG levels are at the peak (week 9 and 10) then as the levels drop you may actually find your nausea and sickness subsides more as then the placenta will take over. HG is caused by the GDF15 hormone in the placenta so I really send love and hope that it settles a bit over the next few weeks. Please find information on pregnancy sickness support UK as they are an incredible charity who offer a lot of support! Know you are doing amazing x
I work in pharmacy - hope this helps!
I’m in the exact same boat as you. This is my second pregnancy, my little girl is 3 and Xonvea worked for me whilst I was pregnant with her but this time around it’s not had the same effect 😢 Iv tried 3 different medications this time around and Iv not felt any relief from any of them. I got sent to hospital yesterday by my gp but the dr in was reluctant to put me on a drip. He gave me another set of tablets and told me to give them 48 hours and if no change then to go back, so it looks like il be taking another trip to the hospital tomorrow. Iv never ever felt so ill so I really do understand how you’re feeling. Sending lots of love and I hope you find some relief soon xxx

Have you been able to hydrate and tolerate fluids? If not, maybe getting IV fluids is a good next step. A lot of the medications don’t work their best or at all if you’re not hydrated, as there’s no way for them to work through your system. I was on doxylamine (Xonvea) my whole pregnancy and it helped tremendously, but on bad days where I couldn’t drink enough and couldn’t get to IV fluids, they were useless. I hope this helps, hang in there 🩷
@Robynn hey, yeah I got iv fluids yesterday. Just going to keep persevering with xonvea and see :)
@Steph this is my second pregnancy too and I feel so much worse in this one. That was like me too- anti sickness actually worked in my first but I’m still throwing up with them now. We can get through it though x
I got a zofran pump. It's a medical pump that will continuously pump small doses of zofran into your abdomen throughout the day. It was the only way I survived through my pregnancy without being at the hospital 24/7
