Early pre-e diagnosis

Hey mamas, It’s been a rough day. Got back 24 hour urine and protein is at 382. So today when in the office for my 14w ob check in, my BP was 162/90. Earlier in the day my BP was 109/76. I’m on meds for high BP but it’s never gone so high, especially lately! She’s going to have me come back next week for another in office check. But if it’s high, it’s the preeclampsia diagnosis. I’m so scared. I’m over 40 and multiple high risk factors. I just worry everything is going to go wrong because I’m so at risk. Any advice? It’s so early in my pregnancy too, so will it get way worse?

Take it day by day, is my best advice. I was diagnosed with pre eclampsia at 24 weeks but started having symptoms (fluid retention) at 22-23 weeks. I had my daughter at 27 weeks and she is now a happy healthy 18 month old. Make sure you have a support system of people who can keep you calm, rather than people you have to reassure cos it’s okay for your emotions to go all over the place. Doctors monitored my decline as they could afford for me to get sick, but they wanted to keep my daughter inside as long as possible. Trust your doctors, don’t beat yourself up over this - it can happen to anyone regardless of risk factors.

@Kate thanks for the kind words, Kate. I’m glad to hear you and your little one made it through safely ❤️
