Random lump in left armpit?

Hi girls, bit panicked here. (40 weeks pregnant) Noticed today it felt kind of bruised in my left armpit? Didn’t think anything of it. Got into a shower about an hour ago and went to shave my arm pits and thought “ouch, that hurts” and felt around and found a lump. It’s under the skin, about the size of a 5 pence, and it’s sore as if it’s a bruise. Any idea what this could be? I’ve messaged my midwife, Google said if it’s not gone within a week to get it checked out which I 100% will anyway but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? My partner thinks it’s an ingrown hair and will go away on its own or blocked lymph nodes, but I’ve never had anything like this before and of course I’ve had ingrown hairs. The lump feels too large for that but I could be wrong x

I’ve had one since being pregnant and I usually get them close to periods too. A swollen lymph node and they do feel like a bruise and I also find mine quite itchy sometimes as well. Can definitely be common end of pregnancy becuase your boobs begin to swell which is the cause for a swollen lymph node xx

@Karli May makes sense!! I had swollen lymph nodes in the right side of my groin when I first found out I was pregnant and they went down on their own about 4 months ish in. Never had them in my armpits so scared the hell out of me 🥲 thank you girl I’m a bit more relaxed knowing you have these too xx

@Robyn just for extra comfort mine is also in the left side so must just be something about that side 🤣🤣it’s completely normal to have in pregnancy/around periods but if your concerned no harm in getting it checked xx

@Karli May I’ll 100% get it checked if it’s still not gone after a while, it feels like I’ve been punched in the pit 😂 partner keeps rolling his eyes but I panicked so hard ahahah. I’m shouting from the shower like “BABE, SOMETHINGS WRONG” 😂😂😂 I feel better knowing you have this too lol xx

@Robyn I’m 17 weeks atm and it’s been there the whole time, bare in mind also with milk coming in that it’ll probs get worse (not manifesting this for you) but also completely normal but also might take a bit longer to go away due to that. But yeah it does feel a hefty bruise🤣🤣🤣i remember when it was bigger right at the beginning and it even hurt to put my armpit down🤣x

So I developed this in pregnancy! Would develop them after I shaved mainly! Wouldn’t be really painful and could be quite itchy. Would take about a week go fully go. Bathe them with some hot water, I found that helped. Unfortunately, this has continued for me since giving birth- 8 months ago. I have been to the doctors, they called it something and it can be hormone induced and you can get them in groin area too, but mine are just armpits. I’m having to trim armpit hair instead of shaving them and I am having laser hair removal. X
