Is this normal

I’m almost 17 weeks pregnant. I was laying on the couch when all of a sudden I got the weirdest feeling in my stomach. It was super sudden like a sharp spasm it didn’t hurt just scared the crap outta me. The easiest way to describe it is it felt like someone had punched me super fast from the inside of my belly. It was way too strong to be the baby. Hope I don’t sound crazy 😂 but is this normal can someone explain what this is

I’d love to know because I was literally just getting this feeling and it’s only happening when I’m sitting or laying down lol. I’m also around the 17 week mark!

@Jamaica fist off congratulations 💕 and second when it happened was it just 1 and did it make you jump ? I think I scared my husband more than it scared me that’s how hard I jump it was very surprising

Thanks! It’s actually been happening all day today when I sit down, it’ll happen like every ten minutes or so! It’s definitely a different feeling than cramping or growing because it’s like a quick jab, and just for like half a second!

And it does kinda make me jump, it’s definitely a shocking feeling haha, nothing I’ve ever felt before!

Okay, but this has been happening to me the last two weeks and I’m 18 weeks.

I’ve had similar random jabbing pains, at 16 weeks myself. It could be round ligament pain? My understanding is it’s basically just your body stretching to make way for Bub and often ligaments/nerves get bumped along the way.

It happened again like 3 times today I DONT LIKE THIS 😂 I was at Walmart I flinched so hard a lady had to as if I was ok 😅

It sounds like round ligament pain. Our uterus is expanding and putting a ton of pressure on the ligaments holding our uterus. So sometimes weird movements will cause either pain or pulling sensations.
