mine was born 32+3! it was a terrifying and traumatic experience, hes almost 15 months corrected, hes definitely behind in some aspects, but hes been walking since 13/14 months which was alot sooner than my first, he was born 36+4 and didnt start walking till 16/17 months. whenever my hv did any milestone charts, shed always do it when he was corrected to that age, if that make sense? so say a 9 months milestone review, she did it about 11 months, as thats when his corrected age would be 9 months. i wouldnt worry too much if hes behind or not just yet xx
Yeah I will speak to my health visitor about it. It's just such a worry. My first child is autistic and the likelihood that my preemie will have autism too is quite high. I just really want him to be hitting his milestones xx
My son was prem at 24wks old and I don't think he started smiling untill maybe .... 4months if that..... he's now 3yrs old and very behind in his milestones.... they do say the less prem they are the more their able to do etc.....honestly I really wouldn't worry too much x
Maybe consult with your health visitor or GP ? They did tell me that prem babies can be behind developmentally ect. Our little one is 10 weeks and 3 weeks corrected and not really smiling either
