Panic attacks

In the last 4 weeks I’ve had 2 panic attacks out of nowhere. Was wondering if anyone else has experience them and whether it’s to do with hormones?

I had one last week, 23 weeks. I think for me personally, its just all getting quite "real". The baby's room is coming together, the house is getting full of items and essentials, lots of movement. It's a bit of everything, hormones, worry, am I doing everything right, am I going to be a good Mam? Its a normal human reaction. I did read somewhere that it's a positive that you are "worried" now, in a sense that you are going to be the best Mum you can be and actually care about the well being and how you bring up a little human to the best of your ability. Being a first time Mam myself, in the later stages of life I have no personal experience, but I will say if you do suffer more going forward, maybe have a chat to your midwife 🙂

I will add, the only ever time I have suffered with panic attacks was when my thyroid levels weren't right (hypothyroidism). Just FYI.

@Angharad I’m due to see midwife next week so plan to discuss it with her. Possibly linked to my heart as I am waiting for an ECG and Echo. I know pregnancy can cause some issues with the heart being under more stress

Could be caused by baby kicking your adrenal gland. That's what has been causing my irregular heart beat and breathing issues. I used to get panic attacks frequently when I was younger, if feels a lot like that when she kicks there.

@Ellie mind if I message you?
