Gestational Diabetes

Just been diagnosed with this. Feeling overwhelmed and worried. I’ve heard the moment of truth is when they check your babies blood sugar levels after they’re born. I’m also concerned about my own health post baby and the possibility of developing type 2 in the future. Anyone experienced this? Any advice / tips would be useful

Don't worry hard I've had it three times and I've been borderline since I was like 8 years old.... if you want let's be friends and we can share recipes and ideas I like to have lemon cinnamon water like 28 Oz of it after everymeal and I walk 2 to 6 miles a day depending on how far along I am in the third trimester it's definitely 2 miles I also switched to brown rice and bulgur wheat instead of Norma carbs good news is you can still season things so the food doesn't have to be torture you got this momma you're gonna be just fine diabetes is a genetic thing Don't you dare beat yourself up over this and it has to do with the placenta which grows from the sperm so your guy is to blame as well you got this ps I'm due in August so right after you go summer babies

I was diagnosed with GD at 27 weeks. It’s really really tough but the moment she was born it all went away and I forgot all about it! Her sugars were fine after birth and my blood test 6 weeks after came back normal! Pairing foods such as proteins and fats with carbs really helped me and I would allow myself the tiniest treat every now and then. It’s all worth it when they are born xx

It is a 24x7 job .. this is the right push I needed to adopt a healthily balanced diet and be physically active throughout the day.. especially walks after meals. All of it is helping me massively. I feel this is the best time to make such changes when motivation is high. Like how some mums quit smoking for good. I would like to continue my healthy diet post pregnancy as well.
