baby inconsolable crying

hey!! my baby is just 8 weeks today, and for the past 2 days he’s been crying (differently than before, now is more like a sad crying). And really nothing helps, until he falls asleep. Also he has so much spit in his mouth that sometimes he gets to gagging on his own spit. is anyone going through the same thing? should i be worried?

Has anything happened recently that may have triggered it? Are you saying he cries every minute that he’s awake?

@Joy not every minute, he gets in that mood for about 20 minutes or so 🥺 idk what could’ve been… we took a 3hs trip on the weekend and he was upset when he was awake (he slept for 2.5 hs), that’s the only thing i can think of.

One of the 3 biggest reasons my little girl cries is that she has a dirty/wet diaper, is hungry, or is tried. Babies can get overtired and over hungry. If it’s not any of those things I would call your pediatrician’s office and ask about it. My guess on the spit is because his salivary glands are maturing because that’s why my little girl is drooling more. I’m not a doctor so this is speculation

Are they formula or breastfed? My lil guy is a combo and for like a week straight he was doing this and we could not figure out what was wrong-tried all the things except changing his formula. Ended up changing his formula this week and he has been sooo much better so far.

My daughter was the same way week 8. So so so fussy. It gets better! This is very common at that age

Possibly a leap or overtired would be my guess.
