Morning sickness

Good afternoon everyone! I’m currently 11 weeks pregnant and really struggling with nausea and sickness whilst working full time. I wondered if anyone had any tips or advice or when it may stop 🤣

I found that ginger really helped me! Lemon and ginger tea and ginger nut biscuits. I even had candied ginger pieces but they are definitely an acquired taste 😂

@Rhiann thank you! I just feel awful from the second I wake up to going to bed lol

Sorry you’re going through that. It’s awful. For me it stopped in both pregnancies around 16 weeks

@Imelda did you go on meds at all? The drs have tried me on two and nothing has helped xx

I tried every remedy to try help my morning sickness but unfortunately nothing worked. I ended up going to my GP who prescribed anti sickness meds (don’t buy them over the counter because they are not suitable for pregnancy). The first ones they gave me didn’t work so I went back and got different ones and they were a life saver!

@Abbey it does get better, but for me it didn’t go completely until I was 19 weeks along. Definitely try the ginger and see if it helps. Little and often for food as well 😊

@Abbey yes, they gave me meds who didn’t work and then I stoped taking other meds, just managed it with ginger biscuits and eating minimally until it stopped 😬

Don't try and power through....go to the Dr and get some anti nausea medicine

@Kelly I’ve tried two and they don’t seem to work. It’s my prenatals that seem to set me off

After the natural stuff stopped working, I was on meds which helped but I was still dry heaving until week 30.

Which prenatals are you on? I ended up using gummies for a while and it was better but my nutritionist suggested Needed has more prenatal coverage.

@Mee I take Pregnacare I think it’s called, it’s the syrup and it just sets me off everytime

Prego pops were highly recommended to me and a lot of my friends found relief from them, but what helped me tremendously was just bringing different types of blan foods and trying to eat smaller portions more often

Mine stopped around 12 weeks

Might be worth switching from Pregnacare… I were taking these but switched to boots own brand of folic acid and vitamin d and this helped my nausea tremendously x

@Sienna ohhhhh I’ll try this thank you xx

Ginger biscuits made me feel worse but some women it helps , some say a glass of milk , but the only thing that helped me was digestive biscuits the ones with a bit of sugar on them not rich teas a girl really suffered badly at my work I bought her digestives haha ! And she felt better with them too (not the chocolate ones )

Only thing that helped me was mints or chewing gums but had to be the strongest ones as it took my mind off stuff n focussed on the mint lol x

I am 10 weeks and my nausea is easing off but I got GP to sign me off for weeks 7-8+4 (or something like that) while I got over the worse of it, thankfully it was and it did ease off! But I’d recommend getting signed off for a week, give you some time to do things at home! Ginger never helped me but I just ate digestives and buttered toast and ate small and every hour and a half! Hope that is a bit helpful!

I finally had to take meds, but make sure you keep something in you’re stomach. That seems to help me. I hope it gets better!
