Hey ladies, currently being induced and thought id have a c-section today as the gel want doing it job however 2 hours after the last gel my waters broke naturally.
Contractions aren’t crazy and just want people experiences with the oxytocin drip.

Learn more about our guidelines.I asked for an epidural before the drip and I'm thankful I did. Contractions really do ramp up on pitocin (I could still feel them, just not the pain).
Good luck with the rest of the process, hope it goes well! X
@Paulina did you have a successful vaginal delivery xx really wanting to avoid a C-section but obvs it can’t be avoided for emergencies no drama 😂 I’ve been here since Monday and would love for her to appear now xx
No, my baby was on a wonk and I simply wouldn't dilate 😞 But I reckon I was an edge case! X
I was induced last Wednesday and after the balloon and prostins failed i ended up on the drip and had a successful vaginal delivery on Saturday. I didn’t want an epidural but after gas and air and diamorphine didn’t touch the sides i ended up with one.. i would recommend one before the drip as the pain is something else xx
I ended up on oxytocin with both my kids. Like they say above, take the epidural! Both were vaginal deliveries. One relatively uneventful and the other I did need forceps but I avoided a section. I also nearly caved and requested one on day 2 of my second induction but I'm glad I went with the drip
I just had the drip with my second and I personally didn’t find it as bad (I had terrible expectation’s!) as I thought. I did got through with just gas and air. Similar to you my waters broke naturally and then I was on the drip for a short amount of time to ramp up the contractions.
Thanks ladies xx my cervix hasn’t been very favourable the last few days so hoping when I’m examined soon it will so the drip will be all good to have xx
I had the drip on gas and air and then remifentinal laboured for 15 hours on it - not nice but survivable lol I would go for an epidural if I was allowed though xx
I was induced Saturday night. I had two lots of the pessary gel, then they had to stop me contracting too much at 2cm. A few hours later my waters went on their own. I was put on the drip (oxytocin) by sunday tea time, which had to be stopped due to baby having a heart rate drop after I'd reacted badly to pethidine at 4cm. Soon after the drip went back on and i had an epidural, and i slept through contractions from 4cm to 10cm, woke up to being ready to push and little lady arrived early monday morning
