Hip pain waking me in the night - any suggestions!

I’m only 17 weeks but already the hip pain is really bad in the night, I’ve tried wedging a pillow underneath me and between my legs to try to help but doesn’t seem to do anything. Any suggestions of any pillows or anything I can do to help!?

I would suggest a pillow based on my last pregnancy, but this pregnancy it's not helping. I was going to biweekly massages, Tuesday is my last one though as my husband's benefits ran out

I would fill out a self referral for physio, I had it from 18 weeks pregnant, was confirmed it was pgp by around 24 weeks and I was given exercises to do every day which helped- they also recommended aquanatal and pregnancy yoga (which I did some at home and that helped too) it never went away until my bump dropped at 39 weeks unfortunately x

The hip pain 😱

Self refer to physio. Get a pillow that's a little wedge each side of you so it keeps you in place - amazon has loads. Good luck. Keep moving and keep doing pelvic floor exercises. The pain goes aw soon as the baby arrives in my experience.

PRENATAL CHIROPRACTIC 🙏🏽

I have this and I'm also at 17 weeks! I've made my bed softer. My husbands added two extra duvets on top of my mattress and the biggest topper we could find! It has helped a lot. From time to time we need to fluff them to male it super soft again

I had this very badly! I've been sleeping in a big pregnancy U shaped pillow, with one side underneath my back, so I'm not on my back but propped up at an angle and my hips aren't taking my weight, but more my bum and then have the other side of the pillow between my legs. I spoke to my midwife about it as I was worried I wasn't completely on my side but she said that this propped half and half is fine as I'm not fully on my back! Hope this helps xx

I had it from 9 weeks on in my sons pregnancy. I did physical therapy for it, but for at night sleeping with one pillow between my ankles and knees keeping your legs a bit apart helped mine. Hope it can help you!

Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions! Going to buy a new pillow and will give it a week then self refer to the physio I think! Any recommendations of pillows!? No clue where to start on Amazon haha x

@Faye I honestly just used the baby bump pillow and then a regular bed pillow between my legs from above my knees to about my ankles!

I bought a designated pillow for my first pregnancy & didn’t even use it for my second. It wasn’t full enough. For my second I used my extra pillow from Purple. It held its shape very well.

I suggest doing strengthening exercises NOW. Look up modified hip airplanes. And clamshells, reverse claims, side planks + banded clams. Diagonal dumbbell deadlift. My pt told me laying in your side foe prolonged periods weaken the hips.

I started with this around 3 weeks ago it's terrible. I'm using wedge pillow or v pillows to support bump and hips, nothing seems to work. So I end up by 3am propping myself up on a load of pillows and sleeping in a half sit/half lay. I'm starting with pregnancy chiropractor on Wed and waiting for physio referral as this did wonders with my sister
