Pink/Brown discharge/spotting

5 weeks + 3 days. I done a pregnancy test this morning, after going through previous losses, I’m currently freaking out. On Thursday & Friday morning, I had brown discharge when I wiped and that was it. Then this morning I’ve have some brown spotting. The test line came up straight away before the control line, for the 4th time over the past week. I spoke to the midwife yesterday, who basically said ride it out, if you’re going to miscarry then it’s going to happen, there’s nothing that can be done before 6/7 weeks. Absolutely not what you wanted to hear when you’ve been through miscarriages before 🫣 I know spotting can happen in early pregnancy, but it doesn’t help the fact I’m so worried. Mine isn’t heavy and I have zero pain, but that still doesn’t help how I’m feeling.

I’ve also had previous losses and currently 5-6 weeks pregnant. I had an internal scan yesterday to confirm things were going as planned (although not much to see yet). I have had some spotting over the last 3 days and I have been given a progesterone pessary called cyclogest. It may be worth speaking to somebody about this? It’s given up to 16 weeks pregnancy xx Now I’m not saying it will fix things but going through the same thing myself after 3 previous losses I’m glad to see the doctors/nurses are doing things that may help xx

Hi Kim, I asked my midwife about this, as I’ve previously been through 4 rounds of IVF, where I was prescribed a progesterone pessary and injection for daily use up until I miscarried on 2 of the rounds. The midwife said it wasn’t available and that I would ln’t be able to have any early scans or bloods, as I’m not 6 weeks or over.

Ahh I’m not sure then 😔 I should be 7 weeks 2 days going off my last period date so I was booked in for 7 weeks for the scan. It was only when they scanned me that they said I was actually only 5 weeks but they had told me 7 weeks for the scan initially.

It sounds like implantation bleeding and that’s a dye stealer, so that’s positive in terms of HCG. I’m sorry to hear the negativity you received from the midwives. I know it’s hard with losses, but try and stay positive and take it day by day.

With my first I had spotting so heavy that I thought it was my period! It was only later on when I tried to work out when I got pregnant that I realised it must have been implantation bleeding. Sending good wishes to you 🥰❤️
