Sunburn

So I went to the dr today with my 4 month old & her dad. We ended up having to go pick up my BIL (13) and we didn’t quite realise how long the walk was. We just got back and my baby girl has what looks like a sunburn on both of her legs. Is this serious? Should I be worried? I’m a ftm and I’m freaking out!! I feel so awful 😢

She should be alright- sudocream is good for sunburn, you could pop a little bit on it and hopefully should be a bit better tomorrow. These things happen, don’t worry xx

@Kayleigh thank you so much, I’ll do that now xx

I would check it over with your HV with a quick call, they’ll know best. But just keep baby hydrated and look out for a fever x

Don’t panic! She will be fine. These things happen. X

I had a very similar experience the other day and my baby got pink legs despite having a UV block parasol and the hood of the pram down! These things happen! I was distraught and applied cold paper towels, plain non scented aveeno cream and a cool bath in the evening and went to bed crying because I felt so bad and when she woke up in the morning it had completely gone! Now carry a spf 50 just incase. It’s not recommended until 6 months but rather put it on while out if needed than for her to get pink legs again! Xxx
