Braxton hicks

I'm 30 weeks pregnant and the past couple days I have been experiencing period/poo like cramps. I'm thinking Braxton hicks but my belly isn't tightening it's just the cramps. Just wondering if that's what it is lol?!

I thought I had my first bracton hicks last week at 29 weeks. My whole tummy just went really tight and rock hard 3 times then stopped. Think I had a bit of period like pain with it

I’ve had Brixton hicks. I’m 31 weeks pregnant now. I’d say it’s more like a tightening and your stomach goes rock hard and feels slightly uncomfortable but not painful. For me it didn’t feel like cramps

That's what I thought. Maybe it's not Braxton hicks then 🤷🏼‍♀️ been consistent, a dull ache in my lower abdomen. Quite uncomfortable tbh but had no bleeding or anything

I think with anything that doesn’t feel quite right it’s always safest to check in with your midwife just in case

It doesn’t sound like braxton hicks to me. I got them regularly from 24 weeks with my son and from 22 weeks with this pregnancy. There’s no pain, just tightening and your tummy goes rock solid for up to a minute. It’s just a bit uncomfortable and they are getting stronger as my pregnancy progresses.

Hey Hun period type pain can be round ligament pain as well as belly is expanding I did speak w ok yh my midwife always speak to the midwife id your unsure x

My midwifes have never been helpful. Always tell me to go to MAU. Don't think they've answered any of my questions/problems always tell me go MAU. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Im not worried about it coz it's not contractions and baby is moving but was curious if Braxton hicks were different for everyone

I've had this exact feeling since about 28 weeks, I'm now 30. I don't get the tightening, just period pains. It feels like the beginning of labour but then goes away for days. I asked my midwife as I never had it with my first and she said it's common and is a form of Braxton hicks, and it's especially common in second, third pregnancies etc. she said if it got very painful or regular to go to triage but as long as I'm not worried then just try paracetamol and a warm hot water bottle if it's not too hot!

@Sarah AHH that's good to know. Thank you!
