My son had this done when he was around 3. From what I can remember the procedure was fairly quick and so was his recovery. I really appreciated the fact that we got to be with him when he was waking up so he wasn't scared. He's a healthy 10 year old now, wow how time flies.
My son had it at age 2. He was just a day patient. Operation super fast (1hr) and we were sent home around 3pm when he was happily awake and eating. The first week is rough (I’d say like a really bad bought of tonsillitis). Marked improvement after a week - he was back at nursery on day 8 and seemed fully recovered. It was stressful but his health and been 💯 better since we had it done so really pleased we did it
My daughter had a rough recovery took 2 weeks until she could eat normal again. She stayed overnight after the surgery due to her medical history of extreme prematurity and asthma. Some kids heal a lot quicker than she did
