Contractions? Would you go in?

So I started having contractions last night and it has now been 4 hrs. I’m at 38w 6d. I’m having period like cramps in my lower abdomen and occasionally in my back, left side only. For the first couple hours the contractions were approximately 6-7 min apart and only 30-40 seconds long. I fell asleep for a couple hours and woke up to the pain. Now for the past hour the contractions are about 4 min apart but only 30 sec long. My doctor said to wait and use the 5-1-1 rule. But I feel like these are pretty frequent. The pain is not too intense yet though, they are just like a period. Would you go into the hospital, or wait?

I would wait for now. I went in when I was having similar contractions and they sent me home again

If you’re in pain, go to the hospital.

Wait it out, because in the end it’s easier to get things to progress at home use TikTok or YouTube at some breathing exercises to practice for when they get stronger, and also physical exercises to help baby move down more and they say the toilet is the best way to dilate

I would 100% go in!

What is the 5-1-1 rule ? Also I have been watching my contractions very closely too, and it could be that you have high pain tolerance…. If you have some doubts maybe go to get it checked out…

I would wait

5-1-1 rule?

I would go in...I never felt a pain stronger than my period 🤷🏾‍♀️

Call your doctor and tell them what’s going on

@Jasmin 5 minutes apart, 1 minute each, lasting for 1 hour

i would wait until they got stronger. any update?

UPDATE: I decided to wait and then after about 5 am all contractions stopped. I slept good after that so I don’t know. 🤷‍♀️ Now baby is just active and there is some pressure.

Also I just lost parts of my mucus plug…. So anytime now I guess?

@Janelle I lost parts of my mucus plug a few days ago, still pregnant ha

@Briana oh yeahhhh kinda remember reading about that…. lol 😂 Ty !

I’ve seen when it starts to be hard for you to have a conversation or be back to yourself after a contraction js another sign you need to go to the hospital If this is your first baby it’s going to be a lot of these false alarms :/ it’s definitely going in the right direction!!! But may take a day or two until it’s time to go in
