Contraception advice please

Hey 👋🏻 I’m in a similar situation. I was diagnosed with deficiency anaemia 3/4 months ago. My life stopped, l worked and spent my days in bed. I have never felt this exhausted. I was anaemic but my ferritin levels were 5 - pretty low. I have taken iron tablets 2/3 times per day, surprisingly my normally very heavy periods have reduced to a more manageable flow. I had the mirena coil, which almost stopped my period, the only downside is that the day before a minor bleed - l could pick a fight with a wall. I mean world war 3 type stuff. Have you been offered any other options? My GP suggested ablation and tablets to stem the bleeding.

Going to try the depot injection now. My ferritin was 7 in december and i collapsed

Heyyy! I'm in the same boat! I've tried them all except the coil. And I don't think I'm ready to try that one yet after what I've put my body through. Before having my son progesterone only pill worked amazing for me but trying it afterwards i bled for months non stop. I couldn't handle it. I then came off of it and had to take iron tablets. I then tried the injection which stopped my periods completely (heaven) although I gained around 3 stone. I chose to come off due to other meds and chronic conditions. I have now come back off and back on iron tablets again. It's hard to say and I think contraception is trial and error. Maybe take the pill first and try as you can stop whenever needed, however getting a coil removed is more hassle if that makes any sense at all?

Hmmm i already am 3 stone up due to chronic conditions!!! Coil i decided against in the end im trying the depot injection
