Night Feeds

Alright ladies! How are you night feeding with formula??? We just started supplementing at night and dont have a good system down yet for making the bottle before she gets too awake/fussy. Any tips and tricks? I bought pop yum bottles, which though they work great for the purpose of separating formula and water till ready, my lo isn't taking to the bottles as much as her avents and will only drink about an ounce. Help!

We have always used a flask, make it up, pop it in cool water to cool down, by the time I’ve done her nappy the bottle is usually ready x

When I started combi feeding we did a formula bottle before bed and then breastfed in the night mostly. She dropped the night feeds reasonably quickly as the bedtime bottle seemed to keep her satisfied until morning. If we did do a night bottle we used the prep machine. I'd go make the bottle as soon as she cried. Then come up and do a nappy change whilst keeping the room as dark as possible, then feed her in the dark. It was harder when she was really small because she had reflux. So if there was a big vom all the lights would get turned on for the cleanup. Then she would be wide awake 🤦‍♀️

Bottles with formula already in them and water bottle on a table in the nursery. I just fill up water to appropriate point for amount of formula in the bottle, shake, serve. Or if the amount might change, having small containers of a certain amount (we did 30ml in small things for if we needed just a little), empty bottles, and the water bottle. We kept both prefilled bottles, empty bottles, and small containers of Formula powder. This is how I do it with a bottles in the diaper bag too.

I brought my cosmetics fridge into my room with the warmer, pre made a cpl bottles put them in the fridge and warmed them there next to bed. That way I can put her on the breast or change her diaper or soothe her while bottle warms
