Quick drop off works best for my son, the longer I stayed the longer he cried, he cried at drop off for the first ~2 months (started daycare at 11m), most of the time he stopped crying as soon as I left the room 😅

I don’t sneak off! I read something about it being more detrimental than helpful but I keep it short and sweet. Pop him down with a toy and a friend or with an educator if he’s really upset, unpack the bag, then a kiss on the head and “mama loves you, mama/daddy will pick you up this afternoon, have a great day baby”

I let him wander in by himself and depending on the day he either follows me as I unpack his bag or he runs off to eat/play. Either way I give him a quick cuddle and kiss and tell him who’s getting him in the evening

Also I work in childcare and I see how the long delayed drop off really affects the kids throughout the day. Short and sweet is best
