14 month old screaming

My daughter is 14 months old and she screams. I mean your ears ring and your brain feels like it is going to explode screams. She is a happy easy going toddler until she is not. It mostly happens when she is over stimulated or over tired. But recently as int he last last 4 days she screams about everything when she is mad. She wanted more jello and I was cooking supper, she was in her highchair and she just wouldn't stop, as an example. I try to ignore it and then wait a few seconds and say, would you like more jello, sign more, and then give her more. But she doesn't stop..like for half hour nothing was right, she was just mad about everything and just kept on. What can I do to help my normally sweet quiet girl communicate better..

Recently I’ve been binging @drchelsey_parenting on TikTok and have found her content to be really helpful. I’d check out her stuff and see if you find anything helpful. I believe she offers a free consultation as well. For cooking time she recommends keeping a tray of activities in the kitchen that are safe and entertaining that you can pull down for the little to entertain themself while you cook. She also has great content on how to approach meltdowns when kids have flipped their lids and are acting out a stress response. Part of helping to mitigate these instances is also making sure you have quality time to connect at other times of the day and making sure you give plentiful quality praise (research recommends at least 100 times a day according to Dr Chelsey!)
