Biting, hitting and kicking when mad
My 2 and a half year old bites kicks and hits me when he’s mad but only me he won’t do it to anyone else . I feel like I can handle it calmly until he bites me then my blood boils and I yell.. his dad told me I need to calm down and I agree but I want to cry it’s so painful when my kid hits or bites me . Helpppp me stay calm
My son has recently started hitting or throwing things when mad. It boils my blood too. But I just remind myself to look at his hands. Notice how small his hands are compared to yours. He is still so small and these emotions are just so big that he doesn’t know how to handle them and he lets them go in a physical manner. If you need to step away, tell him “it’s okay to be mad. But we can’t bite/hit. So to keep me safe, im going to step over here. When you’re ready for my help calming down, let me know.” That’s worked for us. It’s still a struggle but we are getting there!
